LONGING TO BELONG

Within us all, there's an urge

To sing the same song

To be seen and heard,

To feel aligned and belong

Instead we’re taught we must

Sell the sacred to survive

Burn the air, land, and waters

And all that's alive

Replaced with dead digital

Nothingness that's crept in

A last greedy grasp of colonialism

The original SIN

Now I've chosen to turn away

Back to the unknown and mystery

As what's now known is this ugly,

Toxic plague of HISstory.

I choose to remember our connection

To the four alive elements

The expansive soil, skies and stars

Are much more relevant ;

Than feeding the gaping hole

In my heart with more money..

I just want to melt under

The suns gaze, like liquid honey.

And live from an unstruck heart

Radiating her warm rays

To move away from the linear

Into more softer, circular ways

To return to my sacred home

My body and within my skin

Resonance are my anchor points

And I how choose my kin.

When we pivot back to our

culture, language and land

There's no more need for validation

By the West or the white man.

BE-ing back in the arms of

Mama nature is the Real Longing

So I’m Undoing and Unlearning

His colonial lies of false BE-longing
