Dreaming is a part of every human beings life, whether or not we remember our dreams or not, it is a process that happens to us nightly. Also the future depends on what kind of world we can collectively Dream into Being. I envision a world where Rest and Dreaming are respected and revered once more, like in the past. The future - in my humble opinion- will be anchored with technologies and methods of the past and ancient civilisations.

In Egypt, as in most of the ancient world, people paid a lot of attention to their night travels, Dreams were incredibly important.. Queens, Kings and ordinary people alike regularly acted on messages received in a dream. Sometimes the dreams had obvious clarity, the message needing no interpretation. Or a dream might be prophetic, providing information or warnings about the future. Some dreams instructed the dreamer to carry out certain actions; the temples were full of dedicatory plaques to the Deities stating that some action was taken “in accordance with a dream.” Yet these types of dreams were rare—as they are today. Most often, people dreamed in symbols and images that had to be interpreted in order to understand the meaning. For this, one needed a dream interpreter.

Isis is, most certainly, a Goddess associated with dreams and dreaming. Anciently, people slept in Her temples in order to receive dreamsm then they sought out dream interpreters to help them decipher the meaning of dreams they believed she had sent them. They obeyed any guidance she asked of them in their dreams. Often, what they sought from the Goddess were healing dreams.

Ancient Egyptians not only would remember their dreams but had practices of Incubation, where they would actively seed communication with their dreams to bring back messages to help them heal.

We will explore the major sites across Egypt where Gods and Goddess would actively Incubate dreams including the most intact of all Egyptian temples - Hathor Temple in Dendara.
