Cairo is an incredibly exciting city, overstimulating and often overwhelming, unless of course you are with the right people and know where to go! It’s also incredibly old, in some streets and areas you genuinely feel you are still seriously living in 1988, which is super nostalgic, romantic and beautiful!
I absolutely looove vintage shopping as I myself am vintage (1980’s baby here) as well as antiques and I have long been curious about where and which parts of Cairo are the best spots to go to for Vintage.
Recently have the had the pleasure of discovering just this, I went shopping in two of the most exciting areas in Cairo, where I found not only some stunning items of clothing but also beautiful vases, furniture and trinkets that I feel are highly unique to Egypt’s vintage scene, rather than say London, where I had lived for a long time.
So I am happy and excited to run a focused and fun 3 day trip from Dahab to Cairo, and take you to these spots - that being Diana Market and Wakalet el Baleh, both known hotspots for Antiques, furniture and clothing.
Day One will be Wakalet el Baleh, Day Two is Diana Market and day 3 is Resting and recovering in either/ or Zamalek and el Maadi comfort zones, exploring galleries and just adapting to our groups vibe and needs.
Cairo is an Incredible city that can smash the unexperienced down and out, leave them wounded and bitching about locals, which deeply saddens me when I overhear Cairo being slagged.
This is why I am running these tours regularly, so people can truly have a unique and great experience of Cairo. Plus as I am a city girl, born in Sydney, then London for 16 years so while Cairo is crazy it’s also utterly fantastic if you know what you’re doing! Also the birthplace of my mama, so would love to show you this great city through my eyes!
